Sanderman, having an unsavory reputation for his unorthodox methods of getting to the truth dives recklessly into the investigation, causing more disdain from the Navy. As the two work together, a fire ignites between them, sending them further into peril. Emma is determined to stand up for the rights of the women in the military while dealing with the ghosts of her past. She comes face to face with a self-righteous commander who is more interested in protecting his career and a dark past, a past that is so scandalous it will rock the United States Navy to its core.
